Adult Toys – Shopping In A Store vs. Shopping Online

Shopping for adult toys is not always easy. There are many things you need to think through before you can actually buy a toy. Before we buy a toy, we have to make the choice – are we going to buy it from a real store, or are we going to get it online? I have lots of experience with adult shops (I make a living selling them, and I also buy a lot), and here’s what I think.

Real adult shops

Advantage: We can go to an adult shop with our significant other. We would think that it is a romantic experience, but in my opinion it is overrated. You go there, and there are tens of couples, that are doing the same thing, and it’s not like they are being quiet. A quiet store, where my wife and I can talk silently and hear what the other one is saying would be perfect. This would really be an intimate experience. Maybe there are such stores, but I never came across one.

Disadvantage: When you enter a real adult shop for the first time, you might feel a little uncomfortable. Porn movies, all kinds of toys – it can get a little overwhelming. Especially if you’re new at this and you are looking for a little toy to experiment with. All the hardcore stuff  you will encounter will surely make you ask yourself if you really want to do this. Pay no attention to the huge vibrators and the kinky porn movies. That’s not for you… yet. Keep in mind that you might feel awkward walking around a store if you’re shopping for adult toys for the first time. And that’s when the idea of shopping for adult toys online will really sound attractive.

Online adult shops

Advantages:

1. Just imagine ordering adult toys online from the comfort of your home. You can think more clearly, and there will be no distractions.  After all, if you are in a real store, you might have to get through all the kinky stuff before you can get to the beginners’ area. And if you are shopping online, you can just click on the category and now you’ve got all the time in the world to decide which toy you want to get.

2. Price – It is less expensive to get a toy online, because we are not paying for that store’s rent.  We are also not paying for the storage department where all the toys are held.

Disadvantage: You can’t touch the actual sex toy before you buy it. You can only see a photo of the adult toy, and that is it. You can’t touch it. But know that neither can you touch it in a real store.  And it makes sense because we don’t want to use toys that other people have touched. Don’t get me wrong, I’m only concerned with hygiene. This is why I support this policy although it prevents us from knowing what we’ve paid for beforehand. So it’s not a real disadvantage, when you come to think of it.

It is up to you to choose the way that you feel as most comfortable. If you think it will be awesome to go to a adult store – then do it! And if you feel uncomfortable in a adult store, buy a toy online. In both cases you can get a toy that will give you a lot of pleasure.
